Forster Jesuitengarten Spatlese Trocken GG
This small, fine vineyard was part of the property of the Jesuit monastery in Neustadt and wine was produced here even back in the middle Ages. Located directly between Pechstein and Kirchenstück, the Jesuitengarten draws on the excellent assets of both neighbouring sites.
Mighty is the scion of the Jesuits once again in the 2007 vintage at first sight. And yet a series of filmy, floral aromas immediately releases it from any heaviness. It draws the elegance of the Grand cru wine from its finely incorporated acidity and its lively mineral character.
SOIL
In the soil formation, the Jesuitengarten differs from the Kirchenstück only in that it has a slightly higher concentration of basalt. The main difference lies in the open location that allows cooler airflows to blow through the vineyard on warm summer evenings and therefore the acidity is more marked than in the Kirchenstück.

FINISHING
Carefully finished, sedimentation overnight in stainless steel tanks and then fermentation and storage on the primary yeast in large wooden casks. First and one-off racking was at the start of April and filling was done at the end of April.

RECOMMENDED DISHES
Hardly any dry wine from our estate is a better accompaniment to spicy, sweet and sour Asian cuisine. With playful lightness the Jesuitengarten brings out the full flavour of seasonings like curry, ginger and lemon grass. However, here it is important that the dishes are not too sharply seasoned.
And besides it is nice to change the proverbial „Fish must swim in the Riesling“ into „Fish must swim in the Jesuitengarten“.
