WINEMAKING NOTES
Our 2010 Chardonnay’s nose opens up with a pronounced buttery sandalwood bouquet coupled with uplifting oral notes and the influence of ripe pluot. In addition to its wonderfully fragrant aroma, it’s very pleasing on the palate, dry and crisp with a touch of minerality.
Layered flavors of wild flower honey, Bartlett pear and tropical fruit flavors pre-dominate with a hint of fresh coconut on the finish. Delicate French oak aging gives added complexity to this refreshing California Chardonnay.
FOOD PAIRING
Blending fruit from several California appellations into this wine creates an appealing balance and versatility. This wine will pair nicely with roasted chicken or try it with grilled shrimp scampi.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Using a classic négociant approach to wine, we combine California’s best growing regions each vintage to source fruit for our full-bodied wines.
Made for people who appreciate wine without pretense, Smoking Loon is a tribute to the independent bohemian side of the Golden State.
