Italy: Rocca delle Macie & Cielo
Tuesday, 7 April, 2009 by NickyB
When I first started learning about wine I was working for an Italian wine company, and my love affair with Italian wine started. This beautiful country has more indigenous grape varieties in the World, and the variety of wine styles that the country can produce is mind blowing.
World Wine Agencies are returning to their roots with this small selection of great Italian wines from Rocca delle Macie and Cielo – two of the first wineries Nicky ever visited. Both of these wineries are still family run and both are hugely important in the Italian domestic market. They both have great respect for the tradition of winemaking and between them hold a great deal of winemaking secrets, passed down from generation to generation.
