WWA Shortlisted for Two Categories @ Harpers Awards 2013

We are delighted to announce that WWA have been shortlisted for two categories at this year’s Harpers Awards.  For the second year in a row we have been shortlisted for Best Supplier to the Independents and this year we are also in the running for Best Overall Agent of the Year.  Results will be announced on May 21st 2013.  Very many thanks to the WWA team for their continuing hard work,  and to all of our customers and suppliers, who help make our success possible.

Silverado launch in UK with spectacular Spring tour

World Wine Agencies are currently preparing a spectacular Spring tour for Napa Valley’s Russ Weis, who is spending 3 days in UK w/c 21st March to promote the historic Silverado Vineyards.

Russ will start his tour in London, meeting visitors to the World Wine Agencies stand at the Annual Wine Institute California tasting at Millbank Tower on Tuesday 22nd, before flying to Edinburgh to host 2 trade and consumer events at Calistoga restaurant on Wednesday 23rd.

Then Russ is back in London on 24th for a private seminar at the famous Palm Restaurant, Belgravia and finishes the tour with an evening event for Handford Wines’ top private clients.

As well as introducing the award winning Estate and single vineyard Cabernets, scoring 92 and 95 Parker points respectively, Russ will be showing their single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc and some rare vintages from the vineyard cellars.  Russ will also be inviting customers to discuss a key challenge – finding new and creative ways to make Napa Valley wines relevant to UK consumer again.

WWA Expand Their Sales Division for 2011!

Please join us in welcoming Richard Wilson to the WWA team for 2011!  Richard has held a number of senior positions, including Sales Director for Montana, Business Unit Director On Trade for BRL Hardy and Vice President On Trade for Constellation Europe.  In 2011 Richard established his own consultancy business and WWA jumped at the chance to be one of his first customers. Von Buhl in the FT Top 100 List – AGAIN!

Many thanks once again to Jancis Robinson, who listed a Von Buhl wine for the second time in this series, which features her top choice of wines for 2010.

This time was the turn of our Forster Ungeheuer Riesling Auslese 2009, described by Jancis as “a particularly open young Auslese that is truly expressive of its provenance: grapefruit syrup plus terroir and great zest”. Read more

This year Bill Powers was the latest winemaker to be crowned by peers as “2010 Legend of Washington Wine”. The award, which is judged on contribution to historical and lasting significance to the community and wine industry, is judged by an industry-based committee, with nominations in from both colleagues in the winemaking industry and the public alike. This accolade follows Bill’s recent “lifetime achievement” award for his work on sustainable and organic farming.
